This bulletin is being issued to advise technicians/dealers on the proper labor
operation code to use when submitting a warranty claim for the replacement of the
Passenger Presence System (PPS).
When the Air Bag Warning light is on and DTC B0092 or B0098 is retrieved from
the Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM), there may be a concern with the PPS. After
diagnosing the PPS condition and it is determined that the PPS must be replaced, the incorrect
labor operation code of C8836-MODULE, PASSG INFLATABLE
CUSHION - R&R is being used when submitting the warranty claim.
If this DTC is recorded and/or the replacement system part numbers that were
ordered are 88981570, 88892048, 89040114 or 89040116, the correct
labor operation code is C8870-REPLACEMENT KIT/INFLATABLE RESTRAINT PASS
PRESENCE SYSTEM.
