Subject:2003-2005 Full Size Pick-ups and Utilities Drivers Memory Seat Changes Position

Models:

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may state that the Driver Memory Seat changes position while driving or recalls to the full forward position intermittently. These two issues should not be confused with the seat creep issue that is explained in bulletin: 04-08-50-016A where the memory seat position changes very gradually over a long period of time.

Recommendation/Instructions:

In most cases, the reason for this is incorrect programming or use of the preset functions. If you are able to verify that preset functions are correctly programmed and the seat does not return to the correct position or moves while driving, please create a Field Product Report by following bulletin 02-00-89-002C.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
