Condition
Some customers may comment on a leak from the transmission.
Correction
Important: This bulletin ONLY applies to vehicles equipped with Transmissions 6L50, 6L80 or 6L90 (RPOs MYB, MYC, or MYD). For vehicles equipped with transmissions other than these, DO NOT proceed with this bulletin - diagnose and repair according to information found in SI.
If determined through diagnosis that the leak is coming from the transmission oil pan or oil pan gasket, complete the following steps:
- Use the J-42220 Leak Detection Lamp and the J-28431-6 Leak Dye Kit to isolate the leak point.
- If a leaking transmission oil pan or oil pan gasket is found, contact either of the following engineers BEFORE any repairs are made:
