The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment that a "Door Ajar" message stays on, dome lights stay on, or the dome lights work intermittently when the doors are closed. This may be due to moisture intruding the door latch switch. This may affect the electrical function of the latch and cause the conditions listed above.

Engineering is working on implementing a new production latch cover material. At this time replace the side door latch (lock assembly).

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
