The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Cannot program a new rear Heated Seat Control Module (HSCM). There will be no communication with the new HSCM. After requesting information and going into TIS the HSCM will not be on the list. At this time the software to program a new HSCM is missing some calibration files.

Note: TIS refers to the HSCM as the Heated Vented Seat Module (HVSM).

Recommendation/Instructions:

  1. Verify there is power on circuit 4840 at the module.
  2. Verify the ground circuit 1150 at the module.
  3. Verify the LAN data circuit 5060 at the module has continuity to the DLC.
  4. If everything in the previous steps checks okay then call Techline Customer Service Center (TCSC) for a VCI number.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
