The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customer's may state that the rear HVAC temperature or mode actuator is inoperative. The concern may also be intermittent.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If, after normal diagnosis, a concern can't be identified, inspect connector C207 or C407 for loose, bent or backed out terminals.

Note: If a temperature or mode door looses its 5 volt reference or if the 5 volt reference is reading substantially lower than 5 volts, the mode or temp actuator has internal logic that will default the mode door to floor and the temp door to full hot. This is internally done by the effected actuator and the command circuit will still be at 2.5 volts.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
