Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  4. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.

  5. Object Number: 744195  Size: SH
  6. Remove the wheel bearing and hub mounting bolts.

  7. Object Number: 744197  Size: SH
  8. Remove the wheel bearing and hub assembly and splash shield.
  9. Remove any corrosion from the hub mating surface.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 744197  Size: SH
  1. Install the splash shield and wheel bearing and hub assembly .

  2. Object Number: 744195  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the wheel bearing and hub assembly mounting bolts
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the wheel bearing and hub mounting bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  5. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
  6. Install the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  7. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
