Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 235992  Size: SH
  1. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .
  2. Remove the fuel fill tube to fuel fill well attaching screws.
  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Remove the fuel fill tube cover in the fender well.

  5. Object Number: 595964  Size: SH
  6. Remove the fuel fill tube to the chassis attaching bolt (2).
  7. Disconnect the fuel fill tube from the fuel fill hose.
  8. Remove the fuel fill tube.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the fuel fill tube to the fuel fill hose.
  2. Connect the fuel fill tube to the fuel fill well.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the fuel fill tube bracket (1) to the chassis (3).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel fill tube attaching bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the fuel tube cover in the fender well.
  7. Position the fuel fill hose to fuel fill tube clamp.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Install the fuel fill tube to fuel fill well attaching screws.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel fill tube screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  12. Add fuel to the fuel tank.
  13. Install the fuel fill cap.
