1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
3. Attempt establishing communications with the PZM.

Does the scan tool communicate with the PZM?

Select the DISPLAY PZM DTC function on the scan tool.

Are any DTCs stored?

--

Go to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List/Type

System OK

Attempt establishing communications with the other modules connected to the class 2 serial data line.

Does the scan tool communicate with the other systems?

--

Go to Step 4

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Data Link Communications in Data Link Communications

1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2. Disconnect the PZM connectors C1 and C2.
3. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
4. Measure the voltage between each PZM power circuit and ground.

Is voltage within the specified range for each circuit?

10-15 V

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 7

Measure the voltage between each PZM ground circuit and battery positive voltage (B+).

Is voltage within the specified range for each circuit?

10-15 V

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 8

Replace the PZM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 9

Repair the open or the short to ground in the PZM power circuit.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 9

Repair the open in the PZM ground circuit.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 9

--

1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2. Reconnect all of the connectors.
3. Install all of the components.
4. Clear all of the DTCs.

Are all of the DTCs cleared?

--

System OK
