Defroster Grille Replacement Without UV2

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Using a flat bladed tool, pry upward on the rear edge of the defroster grille (1) in order to release defroster grille (1) retaining clips from the IP upper trim pad.

  2. Object Number: 493830  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the sunload sensor electrical connector (2).

  4. Object Number: 474618  Size: SH
  5. Pull up on the rear edge, and then rearward, in order to remove the defroster grille (1).
  6. Remove the defroster grille (1) from the instrument panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Partially install the defroster grille.

  2. Object Number: 493830  Size: SH
  3. Reconnect the sunload sensor electrical connector (2) to the sunload sensor (1).

  4. Object Number: 474618  Size: SH
  5. Insert the forward edge of the defroster grille (1) to the IP.
  6. Align the defroster grille with the IP opening.

  7. Press down along the rear edge of the defroster grille (1) in order to engage the retainer clips.

Removal Procedure

  2. Object Number: 577879  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the sunload sensor electrical connector (2).

  4. Object Number: 517263  Size: SH
  5. Pull up on the rear edge, and then rearward, in order to remove the defroster grille (1).
  6. Remove the defroster grille (1) from the instrument panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Partially install the defroster grille.

  2. Object Number: 577879  Size: SH
  3. Reconnect the sunload sensor electrical connector (2) to the sunload sensor (1).

  4. Object Number: 517263  Size: SH
  5. Insert the forward edge of the defroster grille (1) to the IP.
  6. Align the defroster grille with the IP opening.

  7. Press down along the rear edge of the defroster grille (1) in order to engage the retainer clips.
