Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Turn OFF the courtesy lamps.
  3. Open the vanity mirror cover.
  4. Place the vanity mirror lamp dimmer switch from the DIM to the BRIGHT position.
  5. Close the vanity mirror cover.

Did the vanity mirror lamp operate properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Do the courtesy lamps operate properly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Open the vanity mirror.
  3. Place the vanity mirror lamp switch in the BRIGHT position.
  4. Remove the inoperative bulb from the vanity mirror lamp.
  5. Connect a test lamp between the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit of the inoperative vanity mirror lamp bulb and the ground circuit of the inoperative vanity lamp bulb.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

  1. Disconnect the vanity mirror lamp.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit of the inoperative vanity mirror lamp and the ground circuit of the inoperative vanity lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test for an open or high resistance in the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit of the vanity mirror lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the inoperative vanity mirror lamp bulb. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the inoperative vanity mirror lamp. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair an open or high resistance in the ground circuit of the inoperative vanity mirror lamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
