The door ajar indicator system consists of the following components.

    • Driver door module (DDM)
    • Passenger front door module (PDM)
    • Left rear door module (LRDM)
    • Right rear door module (RRDM)
    • Instrument panel cluster (IPC)
    • LH front door ajar switch
    • RH front door ajar switch
    • LH rear door ajar switch
    • RH rear door ajar switch
    • Class 2 serial data circuit

DRIVER DOOR AJAR

The driver door module (DDM) receives a discrete input from the driver door ajar switch. The instrument panel cluster (IPC) receives the status of the driver door from the DDM via class 2 serial data message. When the driver door is open and the vehicle is out of the PARK gear, the IPC displays the message. If the vehicle speed is greater than 4.8 km/h (3 mph) with the driver door open, the IPC displays the message and also sends a class 2  serial data message requesting 5 chimes to sound.

PASSENGER DOOR AJAR

The front passenger door module (PDM) receives a discrete input from the front passenger door ajar switch. The instrument panel cluster (IPC) receives the status of the front passenger door from the PDM via class 2 serial data message. When the passenger front door is open and the vehicle is out of the PARK gear, the IPC displays the message. If the vehicle speed is greater than 4.8 km/h (3 mph) with the front passenger door open, the IPC displays the message and also sends a class 2  serial data message requesting 5 chimes to sound.

LEFT REAR DOOR AJAR

The LH rear door module (LRDM) receives a discrete input from the left rear door ajar switch. The instrument panel cluster (IPC) receives the status of the LH rear door from the LRDM via class 2 serial data message. When the LH rear door is open and the vehicle is out of the PARK gear, the IPC displays the message. If the vehicle speed is greater than 4.8 km/h (3 mph) with the LH rear door open, the IPC displays the message and also sends a class 2  serial data message requesting 5 chimes to sound.

RIGHT REAR DOOR AJAR

The RH rear door module (RRDM) receives a discrete input from the RH rear door ajar switch. The instrument panel cluster (IPC) receives the status of the RH rear door from the RRDM via class 2 serial data message. When the RH rear door is open and the vehicle is out of the PARK gear, the IPC displays the message. If the vehicle speed is greater than 4.8 km/h (3 mph) with the RH rear door open, the IPC displays the message and also sends a class 2  serial data message requesting 5 chimes to sound.
