Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
- Remove the rear seat shoulder belt to the floor pan anchor fastener (2).
- Remove the through bolt access cover (2).
- Remove the retractor nut (3).
- Remove the retractor through bolt (1).
- Remove the rear seat shoulder belt and retractor (4) from the vehicle.
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear shoulder belt retractor (4). Engage the tabs on the retractor (4) to the notches on the hinge box reinforcement ears.
- Install the seat belt retractor through bolt (1) and hand tighten the bolt.
- Install the rear seat shoulder belt retractor nut (3) and hand tighten the nut.
- Install the seat belt retractor access cover (2).
- Verify that the shoulder belt (1) is not twisted.
- Install the anchor bolt (2).
- Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the rear seat shoulder belt fasteners (1, 3)
to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
Align the anchor plate between the dimples in the floor pan, with the seat belt side of the plate facing forward.
Tighten
Tighten the rear seat outer bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).
