Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 574138  Size: SH
  1. Remove the electrical connector (1) from the IAC valve (4).

  2. Object Number: 596334  Size: SH
  3. Remove the IAC valve attaching screws (2) from the idle air control valve (1).

  4. Object Number: 481091  Size: SH
  5. Remove the IAC valve from the throttle body.
  6. Remove the IAC valve O-ring.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 481091  Size: SH
  1. Install the new IAC valve O-ring.

  2. Object Number: 596334  Size: SH
  3. Install the IAC valve (1) into the throttle body.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the IAC valve attaching screws (2) into the IAC valve.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the IAC valve attaching screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  7. Install the electrical connector (1) into the idle air control valve (4).
  8. The powertrain control module (PCM) will reset the idle air control valve whenever the ignition switch is turned ON, then OFF.
  9. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  10. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  11. Perform the IAC Valve learn procedure.

IAC Valve Learn Procedure

    8.1. Start and idle the engine for 15 seconds.
    8.2. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK/OFF position.
    8.3. Wait 15 seconds.
    8.4. Restart the engine , and check for proper idle operation.
