Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  2. Object Number: 617895  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the steering column module (1).
  4. Loosen the steering column control module retaining screw and slide the steering column control module out of retaining bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 617895  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the steering column control module (1) to the steering column and tighten the retaining screw.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten steering column control module retaining screw to 2 N·m (15  lb in).

  3. Connect the steering column control module electrical connectors.
  4. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  5. Program the steering column control module. Refer to Steering Column Control Module Programming .
