Schematic Reference: Retained Accessory Power (RAP) Schematics

Did you perform the Retained Accessory Power Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

  1. Connect the scan tool.
  2. Close all passenger doors.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Wait 5 seconds, then turn OFF the ignition.
  5. Wait 10 minutes.
  6. Operate the components that have voltage supplied by the RAP relay.

Do the components operate?

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Disconnect the RAP relay.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit of the RAP relay and battery positive.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Connect a test lamp between the switched output of the RAP relay and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Test the control circuit of the RAP relay for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Go to Step 10

Inspect for a poor connection and terminal tension at the harness connector of the Rear Integration Module (RIM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair a short to battery voltage in the supply circuit of the components that have voltage supplied by the RAP relay.

Replace the RAP relay.

Did you complete the replacement?

Important: Perform the set up procedure for module if required.

Replace the Rear Integration Module (RIM). Refer to Rear Integration Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
