Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Remove the front bucket seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement .
  3. Remove the front seat belt assembly. Refer to Seat Belt Replacement - Driver or Passenger .

  4. Object Number: 295159  Size: SH

    Important: Note the air line, if equipped, and electrical wiring routing during disassembly in order to ensure proper air line and electrical wiring routing during reassembly.

  5. Disconnect and remove the remaining electrical connectors and the air lines that are attached to the seat back frame.

  7. Remove the four fasteners retaining the seat back frame to the recliner.
  8. Lift up on the seat back frame in order to disengage the seat back from the recliner.

Installation Procedure

  1. Slide the seat back frame down into the recliner and align the fasteners holes.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the four seat back frame fasteners.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the seat back frame fasteners to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Install the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement .

  7. Route and connect the electrical connectors for the heated seats and the and the air lines for the lumbar, if equipped, to the seat back.
  8. Install the front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
