Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 592447 Size: SH
  1. Remove the Auxiliary Blower Motor and IP Support Bracket assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Auxiliary Blower Motor Replacement in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
  2. Remove the fasteners (1) from the rear HVAC extension duct (2) in order to remove both halves of the extension duct (2) from the rear HVAC assembly.
  3. Remove both halves of the extension duct (2) from the auxiliary HVAC assembly.

  4. Remove the bolts (1) which retain the auxiliary HVAC assembly (2) to the center support bracket.

  5. Remove the auxiliary blower motor assembly (1) from the IP center support bracket (2).

    6. Object Number: 592441 Size: SH
  6. Remove the electrical connector (2) from the auxiliary mode actuator.
  7. Remove the screws (1) from the auxiliary mode actuator.

  8. Remove the auxiliary mode actuator (1) from the blower motor assembly (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the auxiliary mode actuator (1) in place on the rear blower motor assembly (2).

    2. Object Number: 592441 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the auxiliary mode actuator screws (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the screws (1) to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  3. Connect the auxiliary mode actuator electrical connector (2).

  4. Install the blower motor assembly (1) to the IP center support bracket (2).

    5. Object Number: 592445 Size: SH
  5. Install the bolts (1) that retain the auxiliary HVAC blower motor assembly (2) to the IP center support bracket.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install both halves of the rear extension duct (2) to the rear HVAC assembly.
  7. Install the screws in order to hold the rear extension duct to the auxiliary HVAC assembly.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  8. Install the Auxiliary Blower Motor and IP Center Support Bracket assembly into the vehicle. Refer to Auxiliary Blower Motor Replacement in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
  9. Recalibrate the actuators. Refer to Actuator Recalibration .
