Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the left and right carpet retainers. Refer to Front Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Remove the front carpeting in order to access the rear ducts. Refer to Front Floor Panel Carpet Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Remove the ducts from the rear blower center support assembly (1, 2).

  5. Object Number: 517275  Size: SH
  6. Remove the auxiliary blower motor nuts (3) retaining the rear blower/IP center support assembly (1, 2) to the floor.

  7. Object Number: 517277  Size: SH
  8. Remove the rear blower center support assembly from the vehicle.
  9. Remove the rear blower motor from the center support assembly.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear blower motor to the center support assembly.

  2. Object Number: 517277  Size: SH
  3. Install the rear blower center support assembly.

  4. Object Number: 517275  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the nuts (3) that retain the auxiliary blower motor center support assembly (1, 2) to the vehicle floor.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts (3) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  7. Install the ducts to the rear blower center support assembly.
  8. Install the front carpeting. Refer to Front Floor Panel Carpet Replacement in Interior Trim.
  9. Install the left and right carpet retainers. Refer to Front Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  10. Install the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
