Power Door Lock Inoperative - Left Side Front Lock

Did you perform the Power Door Lock System Check?

  1. Remove the LH front door unlock relay from the rear compartment relay center 3.
  2. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper between the LH front door unlock relay terminal A4 and terminal B5.
  3. Move the power door switch to LOCK.

Did the left front door lock?

--

Go to Step 3

  1. Inspect the LH front door unlock relay for poor terminal contact. Refer to Intermittents and Poor Connections Diagnosis in Wiring Systems.
  2. If the terminal contact is OK, replace the LH front door unlock relay.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Power Door Locks System Check

  1. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper between the LH front door unlock relay terminals A4 and ground.
  2. Move the power door switch to LOCK.

Did the left front door lock?

--

Go to Step 5

Repair the open in CKT 1250 (BLK). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

--

  1. Install the LH front door unlock relay into the rear compartment relay center 3.
  2. Disconnect the LH front door lock actuator connector.
  3. Connect a digital multimeter (DMM) between the actuator connector terminal A and terminal B.
  4. Move the door lock switch to UNLOCK.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Inspect the LH front door lock actuator connector for cleanliness and tightness.
  2. If the connector is OK, replace the LH front door lock actuator. Refer to Door Lock Actuator Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect a DMM between the LH front door lock actuator terminal B and ground.
  2. Move the power door lock switch to LOCK.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair the open in CKT 694 (TAN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
  2. Select BCM, special functions, door lock test.
  3. Command the driver door unlock, unlock all door, door lock from ON to OFF.

Does the command state match the output?

  1. Remove the LH front door unlock relay from the rear compartment relay center 3.
  2. Connect a digital multimeter (DMM) between terminal B4 and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair the open or the short to ground in CKT 2040 (ORN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Connect a DMM between the LH front door unlock relay terminal B6 and ground.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair the open or the short to ground in CKT 2040 (ORN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect a DMM between the LH front door unlock relay terminal B4 and terminal A6.
  2. Move the power door lock to unlock.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Test CKT 1391 (LT GRN) for an open or a short to ground.

Is the circuit OK?

  1. Inspect the PZM connectors for cleanliness and tightness.
  2. If the connectors are OK, replace the PZM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control Systems.

Connect a 3-amp fused jumper between the LH front door unlock relay terminal B6 and terminal A4.

Did the left front door lock unlock?

Replace the LH front door unlock relay.

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Install the LH front door unlock relay into the rear compartment relay center 3.
  2. Disconnect the LH front door lock actuator connector.
  3. Connect a DMM between the actuator connector terminal A and terminal B.
  4. Move the door lock switch to UNLOCK.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Inspect the LH front door lock actuator for poor terminal contact. Refer to Intermittents and Poor Connections Diagnosis in Wiring Systems.
  2. If the terminal contact is OK, replace the LH front door lock actuator. Refer to Door Lock Actuator Replacement .

  1. Connect a DMM between the LH front door lock actuator terminal A and ground.
  2. Move the power door lock switch to UNLOCK.

Is the voltage within the specified range?
