Door Trim Panel Replacement Eldorado

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the switch plates. Refer to Door Lock and Side Window and Outside Rearview Mirror Remote Control Switch Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 319582  Size: MH
  3. Remove one fastener through the switch plate opening.
  4. Insert a flat-bladed tool between the upper rear corner of the carpet attached to the door trim panel.
  5. Fold back the carpet.
  6. Disengage the fasteners (2).
  7. Remove the fastener (2) under the carpet.
  8. Lift the trim panel (1) up and away from the door in order to disengage the hooks (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the trim panel by aligning the hooks (3) on the panel to the holes in the door.
  2. Push in and down on the trim panel.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the fastener (2) through the switch plate opening.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

    Tighten
    Tighten the screw to .5N·m (4 lb in).

  6. Install the fastener (2) under the map pocket carpet.
  7. Fold the carpet flush to the trim panel.
  8. Install the switch plates. Refer to Door Lock and Side Window and Outside Rearview Mirror Remote Control Switch Replacement .
