Stop Lamp Switch Replacement Stoplamp/BTSI Switch

Removal Procedure

Notice: When installing the brake pedal switches it is very important that the brake pedal remain in the full up or at rest position or damage to the brake system and/or switch misadjustment may occur.


    Object Number: 161421  Size: SH
  1. Remove the IP sound insulators, as needed for access.
  2. Twist the lower switch (4) counter-clockwise and remove.
  3. Disconnect the lower switch (4) electrical connectors.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 161421  Size: SH
  1. Connect the lower switch (4) electrical connectors.
  2. Install the lower switch into the lower retainer. Face the switch connector to the 6 o'clock position.
  3. Slide the lower switch into the retainer (1) until the switch plunger is fully depressed into the switch barrel.
  4. Twist the switch clockwise until travel has stopped. The switch connector will face the 8 o'clock position when the switch is in the fully locked position.
  5. Install sound insulator.

Stop Lamp Switch Replacement ABS/TCC Switch

Removal Procedure

    Notice: When installing the brake pedal switches it is very important that the brake pedal remain in the full up or at rest position or damage to the brake system and/or switch misadjustment may occur.

  1. Remove the instrument panel sound insulator as needed for access.
  2. Twist the upper switch counter-clockwise and remove.
  3. Disconnect the upper switch electrical connectors.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the upper switch electrical connectors.
  2. Install the upper switch into the upper retainer. Face the switch connector to the 6 o'clock position.
  3. Slide the lower switch into the retainer until the switch plunger is fully depressed into the switch barrel.
  4. Twist the switch clockwise until travel has stopped. The switch connector will face the 8 o'clock position when the switch is in the fully locked position.
  5. Install the IP sound insulator as needed.
