Preliminary Procedure

    Important: Seal the A/C system ports after the hose is removed in order to keep A/C system from being contaminated.

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the air conditioning (A/C) system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the right engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side .
  3. Remove the windshield washer solvent heater. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Heater Replacement .
  4. Remove the injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
  5. Remove the upper tie bar. Refer to Front End Upper Tie Bar Replacement .

A/C Evaporator Hose Retaining Nut

Tighten
16 N·m (12 lb ft)

Sealing Washer

Tip
Remove and discard the sealing washer. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .

A/C Evaporator Hose Retaining Bolt

Tighten
6 N·m (53 lb in)

A/C Evaporator Hose Retaining Nut

Tighten
16 N·m (12 lb ft)

Sealing Washer

Tip
Remove and discard the sealing washer. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .

Leak test the fittings using J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector.
