1980 - 1988 THM 125/125C TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY COVER OR OIL (MD9) PAN LEAKS - SERVICE INFORMATION ON APPLYING SEALANT TO OIL PAN BOLTS

BULLETIN COVERS: (Figure 1) --------------- Whenever the side cover or bottom pan has been removed on any THM 125/125C it is necessary to use LOCTITE 242 (or equivalent) to reduce the potential for leaks on the following bolts: (Refer to Figure 1)

(1) Valve Body Cover Bolt Hole (2) Valve Body Cover Bolt Hole (3) Oil Pan Bolt Hole

SERVICE NOTES:

Clean the bolts with a suitable solvent to insure that it is free of dirt and oil. Apply Loctite 242 (or equivalent) to each bolt per the sealant manufacturer's instructions and allow the compound to fully cure according to the sealant manufacturer's recommendations.
