PAINT INFORMATION ALL 1982 MODELS

ATTACHED ARE 1982 CHARTS TO FACILITATE QUICK IDENTIFICATION OF PAINT NEEDED FOR DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS.

THESE CHARTS COVER EXPERIOR COLOURS AND INTERIOR COLOURS PAINT STRIPE COLOURS AND MISCELLANEOUS PAINT ITEMS WITH INDICATION OF GM PAINT CODES, COLOUR NAME AND STOCK NUMBERS BY PAINT SUPPLIERS CPI (DITZLER), (R-M), DUPONT, CIL AND FISHER.

ADDITIONAL PAINT STRIPE COLOURS AND MISCELLANEOUS PAINT ITEMS WILL BE PRINTED AT A LATER DATE.

NOTE:

ALL VEHICLES BUILT AT FREMONT, CALIFORNIA AND NORWOOD, OHIO WILL BE PAINT WITH HIGH-SOLIDS ENAMEL TOP COATS. THE HIGH-SOLIDS ENAMELS LISTED BELOW WILL REQUIRE A SPECIAL FORMULA AND CANNOT BE REPAIRED WITH THE STANDARD COLOURS EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE IDENTIFIED WITH THE STANDARD GM COLOUR CODE. CHECK THE VEHICLE BODY PLATE FOR PAINT TYPE.

VEHICLES WITH AN 'E' ARE HIGH-SOLIDS ENAMEL. VEHICLES WITH AN 'L' ARE LAC- QUER AND 'W' IDENTIFIES WATER BASE AND CAN USE THE STANDARD REFINISH COLOURS.
