Front Heated Seat System Components

The heated seat system consists of the following components:

    • Driver heated seat switch
    • Driver seat back heater element
    • Driver seat cushion heater element
    • Passenger heated seat switch
    • Passenger seat back heater element
    • Passenger seat cushion heater element
    • HTD SEAT FRONT 30A fuse
    • CLAMP 15 10A fuse
    • RH HEATED SEAT 15A fuse

Front Heated Seat System Operation

The heated seat relay module and thermistor are part of the seat cushion heater. The heated seat control relay controls the battery positive voltage used to supply the seat heater elements. Ignition voltage is supplied to the heated seat switch. When the heated seat switch is in positions 1 through 5 ignition voltage is supplied through the on switch signal circuit to the heated seat relay module. Voltage to the heater level selector switch signal circuit is reduced by the resistors within the heated seat switch, level 1-5 seat heater operation is determined by the signal circuit voltage to the heated seat relay module. The heated seat relay module uses the resistance through the heated seat thermistor to regulate the seat temperature. When the heated seat reaches the maximum temperature for the selected operating mode the battery positive voltage supply to the seat heater elements is removed. When the seat cools the resistance value through the heated seat thermistor returns to the limits set for the selected operating mode and the heated seat relay module provides the battery positive voltage supply to the heated seat element supply circuit.

Rear Heated Seat System Components

The rear heated seat system consists of the following components:

    • Rear heated seat relay K65
    • Rear heated seat relay K66
    • LH heated seat switch
    • RH heated seat switch
    • LH seat back heater
    • LH seat cushion heater
    • RH seat back heater
    • RH seat cushion heater
    • CLAMP 15 CRUISE 15A fuse
    • HTD SEAT REAR 30A fuse

Rear Heated Seat System Operation

The rear heated seat relays control battery positive voltage supply to the seat cushion heater elements and the seat back heater elements. Ignition voltage is supplied to the rear heated seat switches. When a heated seat switch is turned on with the ignition on voltage is supplied to the heated seat relay through the heated seat switch signal circuit. When voltage is supplied to the seat heater relay ignition terminal and switch signal terminal the relay energizes and the battery positive supply circuit is closed to the heater element supply circuit. The seat heater elements regulate temperature independently by opening or closing the ground circuit within the element/pad assembly.
