Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 219461  Size: SH
  3. Use a backup wrench on the hose fitting to remove the brake pipes (1 and 4) from the rear brake hose (3). Ensure not to bend the bracket or bend the brake pipe.
  4. Remove the brake pipe retainers (2).
  5. Remove the rear brake hose from the mounting brackets.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear brake hose into the mounting brackets.

  2. Object Number: 219461  Size: SH
  3. Install the brake pipe retainers (2) to the rear brake hose (3).
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Use a backup wrench on the hose fitting to install the front brake caliper pipes (1 and 4) to the rear brake hose (3). Ensure not to bend the bracket or bend the brake pipe.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pipe fitting (1 and 4) to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Bleed the brake hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
