Caution:  When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

Preliminary Procedure

1. Disconnect the windshield washer hose. Refer to Windshield Washer Hose Replacement.
2. Disconnect the hood strut rod. Refer to Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement .

Hood Pivot Bolt (Qty: 2)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Procedure

1. Disconnect any electrical connector.
2. If reusing the pivot bolts, apply Threadlocker (medium strenght) GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the threads.
3. Transfer any parts as needed.
