Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement CZ3

Tools Required

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the radiator support brackets. Refer to Radiator Support Bracket Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 756145  Size: SH
  4. Remove the upper condenser mounting bolts.
  5. Remove the auxiliary cooling fan. Refer to Auxiliary Engine Coolant Fan and Fan Motor Replacement.
  6. Remove the liquid line bolt (1) at the condenser

  7. Object Number: 756175  Size: SH
  8. Pull the line straight out to protect the O-ring.

  9. Object Number: 756177  Size: SH
  10. Disconnect the discharge hose (1) at the condenser.
  11. Pull the line straight out to protect the O-ring.
  12. Remove the condenser.

Installation Procedure

  1. Add refrigerant oil. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .
  2. Install the condenser.
  3. Install the auxiliary cooling fan. Refer to Auxiliary Engine Coolant Fan and Fan Motor Replacement.
  4. Lube O-ring with refrigerant oil before installing. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 823312  Size: SH
  6. Connect the discharge hose to the condenser.
  7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Install the discharge hose bolt (1).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).

  10. Lube O-ring with refrigerant oil before installing. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  11. Connect the liquid line to the condenser.

  12. Object Number: 823309  Size: SH
  13. Connect the liquid line bolt (1) to the condenser.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).

  15. Install the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.

  16. Object Number: 756145  Size: SH
  17. Install the upper condenser bolts.
  18. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 3.9 N·m (35 lb in).

  19. Install the radiator support brackets. Refer to Radiator Support Bracket Replacement.
  20. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  21. Leak test all fittings of the repaired or reinstalled components using the J 39400-A .

Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement LS2

Tools Required

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the radiator support brackets. Refer to Radiator Support Bracket Replacement.
  3. Remove the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.

  4. Object Number: 756145  Size: SH
  5. Remove the lower condenser bolts.

  6. Object Number: 756175  Size: SH
  7. Remove the discharge hose bolt (1).
  8. Remove the discharge hose.
  9. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

  10. Object Number: 756177  Size: SH
  11. Remove the condenser tube bolt (1).
  12. Remove the condenser tube.
  13. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

  14. Object Number: 819801  Size: SH
  15. Remove the upper condenser mounting bolts (1).
  16. Remove the condenser.

Installation Procedure

  1. Add refrigerant oil to the condenser. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .
  2. Install the condenser.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the upper condenser mounting bolts (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 3.9 N·m (35 lb in).

  6. Lubricate the O-ring with refrigerant oil before installing the hose. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  7. Connect the condenser tube to the condenser.
  8. Install the condenser tube bolt (1).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).

  10. Lube the O-ring with refrigerant oil before installing hose. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  11. Connect the discharge hose to the condenser.

  12. Object Number: 756175  Size: SH
  13. Connect the discharge hose bolt (1) to the condenser.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).

  15. Ensure that side seals are not damaged and in position around pipes.

  16. Object Number: 756145  Size: SH
  17. Install the lower condenser mounting bolts.
  18. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 3.9 N·m (35 lb in).

  19. Install the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  20. Install the upper radiator supports. Refer to Radiator Support Bracket Replacement.
  21. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  22. Leak test all fittings of the repaired or reinstalled components using the J 39400-A .

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the radiator support brackets. Refer to Radiator Support Bracket Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 756145  Size: SH
  4. Remove the upper condenser bolts.
  5. Remove the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  6. Disconnect the hose from the power steering cooler.

  7. Object Number: 756175  Size: SH
  8. Remove the discharge hose bolt (1).
  9. Remove the discharge hose.
  10. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

  11. Object Number: 756177  Size: SH
  12. Remove the condenser tube bolt (1).
  13. Remove the condenser tube.
  14. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

  15. Object Number: 819801  Size: SH
  16. Remove the lower condenser mounting bolts (1).
  17. Remove the condenser.

Installation Procedure

  1. Add refrigerant oil. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .
  2. Install the condenser.

  7. Connect the condenser tube to the condenser.
  8. Install the condenser tube bolt (1).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).

  10. Connect the power steering lines to hoses.
  11. Lube the O-ring with refrigerant oil before installing hose. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  12. Connect the discharge hose to the condenser.

  13. Object Number: 756175  Size: SH
  14. Connect the discharge hose bolt (1) to the condenser.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).

  16. Ensure that side seals are not damaged and in position around pipes.
  17. Install the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.

  19. Install the upper condenser mounting bolts.
  20. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 3.9 N·m (35 lb in).

  21. Install the upper radiator supports. Refer to Radiator Support Bracket Replacement.
  22. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  23. Leak test all fittings of the repaired or reinstalled components using the J 39400-A .
