Secondary Camshaft Drive Chain Installation - Left Side First Design - 2007

Special Tools

    • EN 46105 Camshaft Locking Tool
    • EN 46111 Crankshaft Rotation Socket

    Object Number: 946116 Size: SH

    Important:

       • To determine camshaft timing drive design Refer to Camshaft Timing Drive Design Identification.
       • There should be no need to rotate the camshaft more than 10 degrees. Using the hex cast into the camshaft rotate the camshaft in order to install the EN 46105-1.

  1. Install the EN 46105-1 onto the rear of the left camshafts.
  2. Important: All camshafts must be locked in place before installation of any camshaft drive chains.

  3. Ensure that the EN 46105-1 is fully seated onto the camshafts.

  4. Object Number: 1579314 Size: SH
  5. Ensure the crankshaft is in the stage one timing position with the crankshaft sprocket timing mark (1) aligned to the stage one timing mark on the oil pump cover (2) using the EN 46111 .

  6. Object Number: 1579018 Size: SH
  7. Install the left secondary camshaft drive chain.

  8. Object Number: 1579317 Size: SH
  9. Place the left secondary camshaft drive chain around the inner sprocket of the left camshaft intermediate drive chain idler with the timing camshaft drive chain link (1) aligned to the alignment access hole (2) made in the left camshaft intermediate drive chain idler outer sprocket.

  10. Object Number: 1306318 Size: SH
  11. Wrap the secondary camshaft drive chain around both left actuator drive sprockets.
  12. Ensure there are 7 links (1) between the timing camshaft drive chain links for the camshaft position actuator sprockets.

  13. Object Number: 1306320 Size: SH
  14. Align the left exhaust camshaft position actuator sprocket alignment circle mark (2) with the timing camshaft drive chain link (1).

  15. Object Number: 1306322 Size: SH
  16. Align the left intake camshaft position actuator sprocket alignment circle mark (1) with the timing camshaft drive chain link (2).
