Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1385108  Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 5.7L.
  2. Loosen the clamps (1,2) and remove the air cleaner outlet duct from the vehicle. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 1385110  Size: SH
  4. Remove the screws (1) securing the air cleaner assembly to the vehicle and remove the assembly.

  5. Object Number: 1705250  Size: SH
  6. Remove the push pins (1) from the intake air baffle assembly, if necessary.

  7. Object Number: 1705251  Size: SH
  8. Remove the intake air baffle assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Important: An improperly installed air cleaner or a distorted or missing intake air duct may cause a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) to set. Ensure that the air cleaner assembly and intake air duct is installed correctly and that there are no kinks or folds in the intake air duct. Debris in the air cleaner assembly or MAF sensor inlet screen, that may distort air flow can set a DTC.

  1. If previously removed, install the intake air baffle assembly to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 1705250  Size: SH
  3. Install the intake air baffle assembly push pins (1).

  4. Object Number: 1385110  Size: SH
  5. Install the air cleaner assembly into the vehicle.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Install the air cleaner assembly screws (1).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the air cleaner assembly screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  9. Install the air cleaner outlet duct and tighten the clamps (1,2). Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  10. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 5.7L.
