Removal Procedure

    Notice: The ball stud must not rotate during disassembly or reassembly. Hand tools must be used to keep the ball stud from rotating. If air tools are used and the stud is allowed to rotate, damage to the ball stud and/or stud mounting hole may occur.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  3. Object Number: 746681  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the ABS sensor wiring harness from the stabilizer shaft links.

  5. Object Number: 742983  Size: SH
  6. Remove the stabilizer shaft link to stabilizer shaft retaining nuts.
  7. Disconnect the stabilizer shaft links from the stabilizer shaft.

  8. Object Number: 742989  Size: SH
  9. Remove the stabilizer shaft mounting bolts (1) and brackets (2).
  10. Remove the stabilizer shaft from the vehicle.
  11. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulators (3) from the stabilizer shaft.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 742989  Size: SH
  1. Install the stabilizer shaft insulators (3) to the stabilizer shaft. Install the insulator to the stabilizer shaft with the slit facing rearward.
  2. Install the stabilizer shaft to the vehicle.
  3. Important: Do not tighten the bolts at this time.

  4. Install the stabilizer shaft brackets (2) and mounting bolts (1).

  5. Object Number: 742983  Size: SH

    Important: Apply threadlocker 242 or equivalent to the threads of the stabilizer shaft link.

  6. Connect the stabilizer shaft links to the stabilizer shaft.
  7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Install the stabilizer shaft link retaining nuts.
  9. Tighten

        • Tighten the link nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
        • Tighten the bracket bolts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  10. Connect the ABS sensor wiring harness to the stabilizer links.
  11. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  12. Lower the vehicle.
