Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2005 🢒 CTS 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 5.7L 🢒 Oil Pan Removal

    Object Number: 178477 Size: SH

    Important: 

       • The original oil pan gasket is retained and aligned to the oil pan by rivets. When installing a new gasket, it is not necessary to install new oil pan gasket rivets.
       • DO NOT use the oil pan gasket again. When installing the oil pan, install a NEW oil pan gasket.

  1. Remove the left closeout cover and bolt.

    2. Object Number: 309713 Size: SH
  2. Remove the right closeout cover and bolt.

    3. Object Number: 178467 Size: SH
  3. Remove the oil level sensor from the oil pan, if required.

    4. Object Number: 1199309 Size: SH
  4. Remove the oil pan bolts.
  5. Remove the oil pan.

    6. Object Number: 1272840 Size: SH

    Important: 

       • DO NOT allow foreign material to enter the oil passages of the oil pan, cap or cover the openings as required.
       • Use care not to gouge, score, or damage the oil pan sealing surface.

  6. Drill (2) out the retaining rivets (1), if required.
  7. Remove the oil pan gasket (426) from the oil pan.
  8. Discard the gasket and rivets.

    9. Object Number: 1199311 Size: SH
  9. Remove the baffle and bolts, if required. Refer to Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection .
