SERVICE GUILD: TIRE/WHEEL MATCH MOUNTING HIGH/LOW POINTS

SUBJECT: TIRE/WHEEL MATCH MOUNTING DISCONTINUED

In the past, tires have had a label or dot which was aligned with the valve stem on the wheel during mounting. This is called match mounting. Tire and wheel match mounting has been eliminated on all 1991 Cadillacs. This is possible because tires and wheels are manufactured to very close tolerances and essentially eliminates high and low points.

A high point label or dot may still be on some tires, but it will not necessarily line up with the wheel's valve. Dealers should NOT dismount the tire to align this mark with the valve as no improvement in tire/wheel match will occur.
