Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement LX9

Tools Required

J 38185 (SA9111E) Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

Important: Use the J 38185 (SA9111E) to gently release tension on the hose clamp until the hose clamp lock feature engages allowing removal of the hose.


    Object Number: 1547163  Size: SH
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the right side diagonal brace. Refer to Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement .
  3. Using the J 38185 (SA9111E), release tension on the hose clamp at the radiator until the clamp locks.
  4. Remove the radiator inlet hose from the radiator.

  6. Using the J 38185 (SA9111E), release tension on the hose clamp at the thermostat housing until the clamp locks.
  7. Remove the radiator inlet hose from the thermostat housing.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1547164  Size: SH
  1. Install the radiator inlet hose to the thermostat housing.
  2. Using a small flat-bladed screwdriver, release the hose clamp retention lock at the thermostat housing .

  3. Object Number: 1547163  Size: SH
  4. Install the radiator inlet hose to the radiator.
  5. Using a small flat-bladed screwdriver, release the hose clamp retention lock at the radiator .
  6. Install the right side diagonal brace. Refer to Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement .
  7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
