Verify that the automatic door locks feature is enabled. Refer to Vehicle Personalization in Personalization.

Are the automatic door locks enabled?

Go to Step 3

Verify that the automatic door locks inoperative fault is present.

Does the automatic door locks system operate normally?

Verify that the power door locks system operates correctly.

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the driver door lock C1 harness connector.
  3. Attempt to operate the automatic door locks system.

Does the automatic door locks system operate normally?

Go to Step 7

Test the drivers door switch signal circuit of the driver door lock C1 harness connector for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connectors of the driver door lock. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the body control module (BCM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
