Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement LX9

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

Important: Use the J 38185 to gently release tension on the hose clamp until the hose clamp lock feature engages allowing removal of the hose.


    Object Number: 1547166  Size: SH
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Using the J 38185 , release tension on the hose clamp at the water pump until the clamp locks.
  3. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the water pump.
  4. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .

  6. Using the J 38185 , release tension on the hose clamp at the radiator until the clamp locks.
  7. Disconnect the radiator outlet hose retainer from the cooling fan shroud.
  8. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator.

Installation Procedure

Important: Release the hose clamp retention lock by using a small flat-bladed screwdriver.

  1. Install the radiator outlet hose to the radiator.
  2. Using a small flat-bladed screwdriver, release the hose clamp retention lock at the radiator.
  3. Connect the radiator outlet hose retainer to the cooling fan shroud.

  4. Object Number: 1547166  Size: SH
  5. Install the radiator outlet hose to the water pump.
  6. Using a small flat-bladed screwdriver, release the hose clamp retention lock at the water pump.
  7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  8. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .

Using J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers, reposition the radiator outlet hose clamps.
