Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.5L.
  2. Remove the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left Side and Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side .
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Remove the catalytic converter from the engine exhaust manifold. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  5. Remove the right front wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  6. Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement in Body Front End.

  7. Object Number: 96002  Size: SH
  8. Remove the engine mount lower nuts.
  9. Notice: In order to avoid oil pan damage and possible engine failure, insert a block of wood that spans the width of the oil pan bottom between the oil pan and the jack support.

  10. Use a utility stand and a block of wood in order to raise the engine.

  12. Remove the engine mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts.
  13. Remove the engine mount and the engine mount bracket.

  14. Object Number: 96010  Size: SH
  15. Remove the engine mount from the engine mount bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 96010  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mount to the engine mount bracket.

  2. Object Number: 96007  Size: SH
  3. Install the engine mount bracket with the engine mount to the oil pan.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the engine mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

  7. Use the utility stand in order to lower the engine.

  8. Object Number: 96002  Size: SH
  9. Install the engine mount lower nuts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  11. Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement in Body Front End.
  12. Install the right front wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  13. Connect the catalytic converter pipe to the engine exhaust manifold. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Install the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left Side and Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side .
  16. Install the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.5L.
