Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Place the hazard switch in the OFF position.

Do the hazard lamp remain ON, flashing continuously?

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Disconnect the hazard flasher switch.

Do the hazard lamps turn OFF?

Go to Step 6

Test for a short to ground in the hazard switch signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the body control module (BCM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the I/P multifunction switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the BCM. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.

Did you complete the replacement?

Replace the hazard flasher switch. Refer to Accessory Trim Plate, Driver Information Display Switch Replacement - Instrument Panel in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
