Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement Without Independent Suspension

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 1594414  Size: SH
  5. Remove and DISCARD the wheel bearing/hub bolts.
  6. Remove the wheel bearing/hub.
  7. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1594414  Size: SH
  1. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
  2. Install the wheel bearing/hub.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

    Caution: These fasteners MUST be replaced with new fasteners anytime they become loose or are removed. Failure to replace these fasteners after they become loose or are removed may cause loss of vehicle control and personal injury.

  4. Install the NEW wheel bearing/hub bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the NEW wheel bearing/hub bolts to 80 N·m (59 lb ft).

  6. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement .
  7. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  8. Lower the vehicle.
