DIM GEAR INDICATOR LIGHT OR REPEAT FAILURE (INCORRECT P/N)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986-1988 RIVIERAS

On some 1986-1988 Rivieras the gear indicator light assembly, after an initial repair, may either appear dim or fail repeatedly.

These conditions may be caused by incorrect service parts use. The 1987-1988 electroluminescent inverter is not compatible with the 1986 gear indicator light assembly. This incorrect parts combination may cause indicator light dimness. Also, the 1986 inverter is not compatible with the 1987-1988 gear indicator light assembly. This incorrect parts combination may cause indicator light assembly failure.
