OnStar Button Assembly Replacement without Sunroof

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 725613  Size: SH
  1. Remove the overhead console door (3).
  2. Reach your hand through the access opening and disconnect the electrical connectors (1) for the switches.
  3. Remove the OnStar® button assembly (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 725613  Size: SH
  1. Reach your hand through the access opening in order to install the OnStar® button assembly (2) and connect the electrical connectors (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the overhead console door (3). Install the screws securing the overhead console door.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

OnStar Button Assembly Replacement with Sunroof

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 771847  Size: SH
  1. Using a small flat-bladed tool, remove the OnStar® bezel from the headliner.

  2. Object Number: 785515  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the button assembly.
  4. Remove the OnStar® button assembly through the rear of the bezel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 785515  Size: SH
  1. Install the OnStar® button assembly to the bezel.
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the button assembly.

  3. Object Number: 771847  Size: SH
  4. Install the OnStar® bezel to the headliner. Press on the bezel until seated.
