Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1640842  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine mount strut bracket bolt (1) and nut (2) from the engine mount strut bracket on the upper radiator support.

  2. Object Number: 1640840  Size: SH
  3. Remove the engine mount strut bolt (4) and nut (3) from the engine mount strut bracket.
  4. Reposition the engine harness bracket.
  5. Remove the engine strut (2).
  6. Inspect the rubber in the engine mount strut for the following conditions:
  7. • Hardness
    • Splitting
    • Cracking

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the engine mount strut (2).
  2. Install the engine mount strut bolt (4) through the engine mount strut bracket.
  3. Install the engine harness clip onto the engine mount strut bolt.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the engine mount strut nut (3) to the engine mount strut bracket bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt/nut to 48 N·m (36 lb ft).

  7. Install the engine mount strut bolt (1) and nut (2) to the engine mount strut bracket on the upper radiator support.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt/nut to 48 N·m (36 lb ft).
