Driver or Passenger Seat Cushion Heater Replacement Rendezvous

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front bucket seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the seat back. Refer to Front Seat Back Replacement .
  3. Remove the seat adjuster. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Replacement .
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector for the heated seat, if equipped.

  5. Object Number: 627157  Size: SH
  6. Remove the J-hook retainers at the front of the seat cushion cover.

  7. Object Number: 627169  Size: SH
  8. Remove the J-hook retainers on the sides of the cover.

  9. Object Number: 627173  Size: SH
  10. Remove the J-hook retainers at the rear of the cover.

  11. Object Number: 627480  Size: SH
  12. Remove the hook and the loop retainers securing the cover to the cushion.

  13. Object Number: 627178  Size: SH
  14. Remove the hog rings from the cover.
  15. Remove the cover from the front seat cushion.
  16. If the cushion is damaged, replace the cushion.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the replacement heater element over the original heater element. DO NOT remove the original heater element. If this is a second repair, remove the old replacement heater element from the original and install the new heater element over the original.

  2. Object Number: 627178  Size: SH
  3. Install the cover onto the front seat cushion.
  4. Install the hog rings to the front seat cushion cover.

  5. Object Number: 627157  Size: SH
  6. Install the J-hook retainer on the front of the cover.

  7. Object Number: 627169  Size: SH
  8. Install the J-hook retainers on the sides of the cover.

  9. Object Number: 627173  Size: SH
  10. Install the J-hook retainer on the rear of the cover.

  11. Object Number: 627480  Size: SH
  12. Install the hook and the loop retainers securing the cover to the cushion, by pressing in place until fully seated.
  13. Install the seat adjuster. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Replacement .
  14. Connect the electrical connector for the heated seat, if equipped.
  15. Install the seat back. Refer to Front Seat Back Replacement .
  16. Install the bucket seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  17. Caution: To avoid personal injuries, re-zero the passenger presence system whenever you remove or replace the seat cushion or trim. Failure to do so may cause the system to malfunction.

  18. Re-zero the passenger presence system. Refer to Passenger Presence System Rezeroing in SIR.
