Headlining Trim Panel Replacement Rendezvous

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Do not attempt to repair or alter the head impact energy-absorbing material glued to the headliner or to the garnish trims. If the material is damaged, replace the headliner and/or the garnish trim. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.

  1. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  2. Remove the sunroof switch, if equipped. Refer to Sunroof Switch Replacement in Roof.
  3. Remove the overhead console, if equipped. Refer to Roof Console Replacement .
  4. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  5. Remove the assist handle and rear coat hook. Refer to Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement .
  6. Remove the rear coat hook. Refer to Coat Hook Replacement .
  7. Remove the assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  8. Remove the upper center trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  9. Remove the rear quarter upper trim. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  10. Remove the cargo lamp. Refer to Cargo Lamp Replacement .

  11. Object Number: 452787  Size: SH
  12. Use J 38778 in order to remove the rear headliner push-in retainers.
  13. Remove the headliner from the roof through the rear of the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the headliner to the roof through the rear of the vehicle.
  2. Push the headliner rearwards in order to lock the headliner into place.

  3. Object Number: 452787  Size: SH
  4. Install the rear headliner push-in retainers.
  5. Install the cargo lamp. Refer to Cargo Lamp Replacement .
  6. Install the rear quarter upper trim. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  7. Install the upper center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  8. Install the assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  9. Install the assist handle and rear coat hook. Refer to Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement .
  10. Install the rear coat hook. Refer to Coat Hook Replacement .
  11. Install the sunroof switch. Refer to Sunroof Switch Replacement in Roof.
  12. Install the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  13. Install the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  14. Install the overhead console. Refer to Roof Console Replacement .
