Makes 🢒 Buick 🢒 2006 🢒 Rendezvous - FWD 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Electrical 🢒 Lower Control Arm Ball Joint Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the lower control arm. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .
  4. Secure the lower control arm in a vice.

    5. Object Number: 385553 Size: SH
  5. Drill out the rivet heads from the lower control arm.

    6. Object Number: 1834 Size: SH
  6. Use a hammer and a drift punch in order to remove the rivets from the lower control arm.

    7. Object Number: 385752 Size: SH
  7. Remove the ball joint from the lower control arm.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 385752 Size: SH
  1. Install the ball joint to the lower control arm.

    2. Object Number: 385756 Size: SH
  2. Install the new ball joint bolts facing downward, away from the ball stud.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the new ball joint retaining nuts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the ball joint retaining nuts to 68 N·m (50 lb ft).

  4. Install the lower control arm. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .
  5. Install the tire and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Align the front suspension. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement .
