HVAC Control Module Replacement Buick

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the I/P cluster trim plate bezel . Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement.

  2. Object Number: 787410  Size: SH
  3. Remove the HVAC control module retaining screws.

  4. Object Number: 787411  Size: SH
  5. Pull the HVAC control module straight out from the I/P.
  6. Disconnect the HVAC control module electrical connector.

Installation Procedure

    Important: The key should be in the off position when connecting the HVAC control module electrical connector to ensure proper calibration.

  1. Connect the HVAC control module electrical connector.

  2. Object Number: 787411  Size: SH
  3. Install the HVAC control module into the I/P opening.

  4. Object Number: 787410  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the HVAC control module retaining screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  7. Install the IP cluster trim plate bezel . Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement.
  8. Important: Do not adjust any controls on the HVAC control module while the HVAC control module is self-calibrating. If interrupted, improper HVAC performance will result.

    The engine must be running for proper calibration to occur.

  9. Start and allow the engine to run for a least one minute.
  10. Refer to Control Module References for programming and setup information.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement.

  2. Object Number: 629137  Size: SH
  3. Remove the HVAC control module retaining screws.

  4. Object Number: 651475  Size: SH
  5. Pull the HVAC control module straight out from the I/P.
  6. Disconnect the HVAC control module electrical connectors.

Installation Procedure

  3. Push the HVAC control module into I/P opening.

  4. Object Number: 629137  Size: SH
