The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

As communicated to all GM Dealership Parts Managers, Service Managers, and Warranty Administrators in January 2006 and again in May 2006, all service components associated with GM Accessories Headrest DVD Systems are released. Reference Admin Messages VSE20060208 and VSE20060257.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Service components associated with these systems can be found in the Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC). Support in identifying the correct service component should be handled through ParTech.

Diagnostic information associated with these systems are now being loaded to the "Cellular, Entertainment, and Navigation" section of Service Information (SI). This information should be referenced to properly diagnose the root cause associated functional issues on these systems before any parts are replaced.

Also, be sure to check for Service Bulletins or PIs associated with a specific issue prior to replacing any parts.

Relative to display monitors being inoperative, reference TSB 07-08-44-016 in which Cable Connector Clamps are used to resolve loose connections at the display monitor cable connectors.

Note: Complete Headrest DVD Systems should NOT be ordered / used for warranty repairs. Warranty claims filed against complete systems may result in a Regional Feedback accompanied by a request for the warranty claim to be debited.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
