Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 741613  Size: SH
  1. Remove the floor console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Disable the Park Brake Automatic Adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling .
  3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  4. Object Number: 778146  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the park brake cables from the equalizer.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the park brake warning lamp switch.

  8. Object Number: 748000  Size: SH
  9. Remove the remaining park brake lever retaining nut.
  10. Remove the park brake lever assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 748000  Size: SH
  1. Install the park brake lever assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the right front park brake lever retaining nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the park brake lever mounting nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the park brake warning lamp switch.
  6. Raise the vehicle.

  8. Connect the park brake cables to the equalizer.
  9. Lower the vehicle.

  10. Object Number: 741613  Size: SH
  11. Install the floor console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  12. Enable the park brake automatic adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling .
