Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 155741  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the rear tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  4. Remove the electronic level control link.
  5. Remove the rear coil springs. Refer to Coil Spring Replacement .
  6. Remove the parking brake cable from the brake calipers.
  7. Remove the parking brake bracket from the lower control arms.
  8. Loosen the braking cable and then disconnect the cable at the rear suspension support assembly.
  9. Remove the brake rotor . Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  10. Disconnect the antilock brake system electrical connector.
  11. Support the rear suspension support assembly with a transmission jack.
  12. Remove the support brackets to the body mounting bolts.
  13. Remove the front and rear support to body mount mounting bolts.
  14. Lower the rear support assembly.
  15. Transfer necessary components.

Installation Procedure

  1. Support the rear suspension support assembly with a transmission jack.
  2. Raise the rear support assembly to the body of the vehicle.
  3. Install the rear and front support to body mount mounting bolts.
  4. Install the front support bracket to the front body mount.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the front support bracket mounting bolts
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the front support bracket mounting bolts to 86 N·m (63 lb ft).

  8. Align the support assembly at the gauge holes.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the rear and front support to body mount mounting bolts to 191 N·m (141 lb ft).

  10. Connect the antilock brake system electrical connector.
  11. Attach the parking brake cable at the support assembly.
  12. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  13. Connect the parking brake cable to the brake calipers.
  14. Adjust the parking brake cable.
  15. Install the rear coil springs. Refer to Coil Spring Replacement .
  16. Install the electronic level control link.
  17. Install the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  18. Install the tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  19. Lower the vehicle.
